1 large loaf french bread, slightly stale
3/4 cups unsalted butter
1 large chopped yellow onion
5 stalks chopped celery
1 cubed green apple
3 teaspoons poultry seasoning (thyme, sage, rosemary, black pepper, nutmeg)
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chicken broth
Optional cranberries
Cut French bread loaf into 1” cubes.
In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat and add in the onion, celery, apples, and optional cranberries. Season with poultry seasonings.
Stir in the cubed bread until evenly coated in veggie mixture.
Mix the broth in slowly so bread does not get soggy.
Grease a 9x13 glass pan and pour mixture inside.
Bake uncovered for 40 minutes or until top of stuffing is golden brown. Serve while warm.
